    The Spokane Investigative Regional Response (SIRR) Team is investigating a Spokane Police Department (SPD) Officer Involved Shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of October 12th, 2015 at a residence located in the 4100 block of East Longfellow.   The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Jason M. Smith, is accused of intentionally ramming into two SPD patrol vehicles while refusing to follow commands as he drove toward the responding officers.  Three SPD officers fired their duty pistols, striking Smith. Expired Trip Permit Yields Over 5.5 Ounces of Meth On February 8th, 2016,  at approximately 7:15 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies Tim Greenfield and Derek McNall, riding together as a two deputy patrol unit in the area of North Cannon and Northwest Boulevard, observed a red Mitsubishi Eclipse with an expired trip permit and invalid license plates. They stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, identified as 34-year-old Dwayne J. Wanted Suspect Violently Resists Arrest On February 8th, 2016, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies Tim Greenfield and Derek McNall, assisted by a citizen passing by, fought to take 35-year-old Edward T. Fain into custody for a no bail Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest.
