Suspect Arrested for Felony Idaho Warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine

Spokane Valley Deputies responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle and located a male suspect with a fully extraditable felony Idaho warrant for his arrest.  After his arrest, Deputies located a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine in the suspect’s backpack.  He was booked into jail as a fugitive for the Idaho warrant and a new charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.

On July 26, 2024, at approximately 8:10 am, Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a caller reporting a suspicious vehicle in the 1600 block of E. Valleyway Avenue.  The caller said they observed a subject rummaging through the car.  The subject told the caller he was visiting someone but did not know who and mentioned something about being framed.

As Deputies responded, they checked the vehicle’s history and found that a male commonly associated with the car had a felony Idaho warrant.  They confirmed the physical description of the male, 41-year-old Anthony J. Verbillis, and viewed a previous booking photo before they approached.

As they checked this information, they observed a male walking down the street who matched Verbillis’s description.  They asked if he was Anthony, and he said yes. Verbillis was advised he was being detained while they confirmed the Idaho warrant.

Once the warrant was confirmed and Idaho would extradite Verbillis, he was advised of his rights, and he was arrested as a fugitive due to the Idaho warrant.

During a search of Verbillis’ property following his arrest, Deputies located a clear crystalline rock-like substance, believed to be Methamphetamine, inside a container located in his backpack.  A field test showed a presumptive positive result as Methamphetamine.  As he was being transported to jail, Verbillis made spontaneous comments that he thought drugs were decriminalized in Washington.

Verbillis was booked into the Spokane County Jail for the new charge of Possession of Methamphetamine and as a fugitive for the Idaho warrant, pending extradition proceedings.

  1. Well folks don’t give the sheriff’s department too big of a pat on the back. I have knowledge of a female with a felony fugitive warrant out of Idaho that has had numerous contact with the Spokane police and had they arrested her it would have saved her baby that she brought to full term while heavily addicted to Fentanyl and meth. And would have stopped large amounts of drugs coming into Idaho. The systems of failure along with the majority that work for them along with the majority that work in it.
