Attached is a copy of the letter from the attorney representing the family of Ryan Holyk, Michael Maurer, stating they do not support the statements or positions taken by the Rattlesnake Motorcycle Club (Michael Scott Maclay) and in fact, Ryan Holyk’s mother has advised Mr. Maclay she does not endorse the statements or positions taken by his organization and has “specifically requested that Mr. Maclay and the Rattlesnake Motorcycle Club cease and desist from utilizing Ryan Holyk’s name, photographs, etc.†.
Sheriff Knezovich had been authorized by the family and their attorney to address this incident.

As you are aware, 1 am the attorney representing the family of Ryan Holyk. On behalf of the Holyk family and my law firm, please allow this letter to serve as notice that neither the Holyk family nor myself as the attorney representing the family endorse or support any of the statements or positions taken by the Rattlesnake Motorcycle Club. In fact, Carrie
(Ryan’s mother) has advised Mr. Michael Scott Maclay that she does not endorse the statements or positions taken by his organization and has specifically requested that Mr. Maclay and the Rattlesnake Motorcycle Club cease and desist from utilizing Ryan’s name, photographs, etc., for their own political agenda.
While obviously the Holyk family and Spokane County are adverse in the pending lawsuit, it is unfortunate that third parties have attempted to utilize Ryan Holyk’s name and legacy to support their own agendas.
Again, neither the Holyk family nor this law firm endorse such positions and are formally requesting that any future use of Ryan Holyk’s name, photographs, or the tragic events
surrounding Ryan’s death not be used to further any political agenda.
