SPD Arrests armed carjacking suspects in Northwest Spokane

On 08-08-17 just before 12:30am, SPD received a call regarding an attempted armed carjacking in the area of Northwest Blvd and York Ave. The victim reported at least three teenage males had brandished a firearm and attempted to take his vehicle. The victim was able to escape the scene uninjured, and multiple police units responded to the scene.

SPD K-9 units tracked the suspects. Three juvenile males ranging in age from 14 to 17 were located hiding in the yard of a nearby residence. A realistic looking replica firearm was also located. The victim was able to identify the juveniles as the subjects involved.

The three juveniles were booked on multiple charges, including attempted armed robbery and felony assault. SPD is investigating if this incident is related to a previous robbery incident involving similar circumstances.
